ARCHDIOCESE OF SAN FERNANDO
Vocation Jamboree 2024
WHAT IS VOCARE?
In 2015, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines declared it the year of religious and consecrated persons in preparation for the 500 years of Christianity in the country. The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Fernando, through Rev. Fr. Aljim Tuazon, then the archdiocesan vocation director, responded by organizing the first Vocation Jamboree on November 28, 2015, to help young individuals discern about religious life. The event showcased various religious congregations and their ways of life.
The second Vocation Jamboree, named "Vocare," took place on November 26, 2016, emphasizing the Latin word "Vocare," meaning to call. Subsequent Vocare events occurred in 2017 and following years, typically in November, aiming to encourage young men to consider seminary entrance exams held in January. From 2020-2022, Vocare was not held due to the pandemic. However, it resumed in 2023 and was celebrated on February 25, which was a month before the rescheduled entrance exams in March.
