The Archdiocese of San Fernando has issued preliminary information about the year-long commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the canonical establishment of San Fernando, Pampanga as a Diocese.
The archdiocese will begin the celebration with a Thanksgiving Mass presided over by the Most Rev. Charles John Brown, D.D., the Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines on December 11, 2023, at the Metropolitan Cathedral of San Fernando, with the presence of other Kapampangan bishops, Pampanga clergy, religious men and women, and the archdiocese’s lay faithful.
The Pampanga clergy, PPC/RC coordinators and PFC coordinators of parishes and shrines (especially those representing pilgrimage churches), directors of Archdiocesan schools, and representatives of Archdiocesan institutions are all encouraged to attend the Eucharistic Celebration, according to circular letter release number 45 of 2023. It is recommended that PPC/RC coordinators, PFC coordinators, school directors, and representatives of our institutions dress in barong or filipiniana. Similarly, men and women religious ministering in our Archdiocese, as well as our lay faithful, are cordially welcomed to attend the celebration.
Furthermore, the clergy will have access to SM City San Fernando Downtown’s parking lot. It will be free as long as all clergy members present their car passes, which will be distributed prior to the event. Other guests and attendees may park on the premises of the Mother of Good Counsel Seminary (MGCS) and the Arzobispado de Pampanga.
75 Years Full of Grace
The letter also encourages all parishes, shrines, schools, and institutions to incorporate the theme “FULL OF GRACE” into all activities, programs, and apostolates, especially during the yearlong celebration, as part of our joint efforts to participate actively in our Archdiocese’s joyous milestone.
Furthermore, all parish-based pages and other media platforms associated with the Archdiocese are encouraged to utilize the 75 Years Full of Grace logo, as well as to play the official theme music throughout our live-streamed Masses and other online content. Song and logo files, as well as other relevant resources, can be downloaded here: (https://tinyurl.com/75YearsFullOfGraceSongLogo).
Solicitation letters will be produced and mailed to respective priests and donors in order to garner further financial assistance for this annual celebration.
