Members of the Pampanga Clergy gathered in a seminar and series of workshops on social communications.
The three-day workshop, held from April 25-27, 2022 covered topics such as social media, basic photography and videography, and captioning.
The priests were given greater information on understanding the phenomenon of social media and shared ways for taking photographs and videos with mobile phones over the first two days, which were hosted by EWTN Asia.
During the workshops, the EWTN team, led by International Manager Edwin Lopez, discussed how a “story” may become a strategy for engaging the faithful on social media. A compelling story can be told using photos or a short video, and it can be accompanied by an engaging post. The priests were also given activities such as the art of listening and asked to shoot photos and videos.
On the last day of the updating, Rev. Fr. Roy Bellen, the Director of the Archdiocesan Office of Communications in the Archdiocese of Manila, gave a half-day seminar to the clergy explaining how the Catholic Church is built for communication, the benefits and risks of being on social media, and how the Archdiocese can strengthen and maximize its communications office.
This is the first updating activity of our Pampanga Clergy from the past two years.
