FORMATION
- Couples for Christ
- Parish Youth Ministry
- Holy Face
- ApostoladoningPanalangin
- Cathechist
- ANF
Significant Events/Parish Milestones:
– Began as part of San Guillermo Parish, the mother parish of Bacolor, Pampanga; minimal awareness of matters related to faith; church service limited to masses; at times, services were cancelled due to transportation problems and to lack of priests
– Leap of faith occurred after the Archdiocese established the parish and sent seminarians in April 1980 to help with the formation of parishioners. Among them were Fr. Ambo David (now Aux. Bp. Of ASF) during the time of Fr. Mercado with Bro. Crispin Cadiang (native of Bacolor), Fr. Mark Manabat, Fr. Lyndon Valenton and his brother Nap Valenton.
– Fr. Ambo led the nightly sessions explaining the Archdiocesan Integrated Pastoral Plan and the three aspects of Christ’s ministry – Formation, Worship and Service.
– The seminarians also emphasized the value of genuine participation in Eucharistic celebrations. They also taught the people that prayer life devoid of service to others, or faith life without witnessing is meaningless and worthless. These formation sessions led to the emergence of a dynamic community of believers led by empowered lay leaders the likes of AttySurla, DiosdadoGalura, Pedro Rodriguez, Estanislao Malang, Basilio David, Buenaventura Mendoza, Martin Canlas, Javier Espiritu, Porfirio Navarro, ImungGuiao , Mariano Hernandez and many others. Various sectors (youth, women and men, local government officials and education sector) worked together for the spiritual and social development of the parish community.
