Building BEC's
The Vision-Mission Statement of the Archdiocese of San Fernando, Pampanga, clearly stipulates that “we commit ourselves to continue the building and formation of basic ecclesial communities”.
Despite the many years of Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC) being promoted in the Archdiocese of San Fernando, Pampanga, only a few number have attempted or actually created BEC’s in our communities.
Therefore, all Parishes in the Archdiocese of San Fernando, Pampanga, are hereby directed to have, at least, established and formed their respective Parish BEC Core Groups by the end of May 2025.
Moreover, the Mother of Good Counsel Seminary, Catholic Schools, Shrines, and other Catholic Institutions in the Archdiocese of San Fernando, Pampanga, are hereby directed to have supported and adopted the BEC in ways fitting or appropriate to their respective institutions.
This directive must be put into motion immediately for the simple reason that it is not easy to come up with people willing and able to do the BEC apostolate especially for those in the peripheries. The building of basic ecclesial communities among the marginalized and the unchurched involves fervor, zeal, and missionary consciousness among the promoters. Let us together continuously work on the establishment and formation of Basic Ecclesial Communities in our respective parishes, shrines and institutions.
